Santo Domingo Savio School

Our educational team is made up of about 50 people and we are teaching Pre-school students (150 students from 3-5 years old), Primary (300 students from 5-12) and Secondary Education (400-450 students from 12-16).

Our school is in Úbeda, a small town in Andalusia, Spain, and we want it to be a second home for our students. We base Education on the Preventive Methodology of San Juan Bosco (Italian heritage). We try to ensure that our students are always happy, accompanied in their concerns and that they grow in an integral way – including the transcendental facet.

We love theater, games, solidarity campaigns, science, environment, art in general and sports. We understand that languages are important in our lives and in all its facets.

We have participated in several Erasmus + projects both at level of individual teacher training and those related to student mobility. We are usually involved in eTwinning projects where our students interact with students from other countries. We have obtained several national quality labels and a European quality label.

We love science in particular, and for 13 years we have been part of the organization of regional science fairs where all our students (of all ages) present their research work in public. Every year we also show our works in the “Science Park of de Andalusia-Granada” in special events. We do this at a national level also for the international Spanish-speaking contest “Science in Action”, we collaborate with many schools around the world to make measurements of the size of the Earth by the Eratosthenes method and we participate in the activities of the European Association for Astronomy Education.
